Holidays on the Dominican coast

The state is located in the eastern part of Haiti, the western part of the island is occupied by the Republic of Haiti.This beautiful and fertile island, located in the Caribbean, and is part of the Greater Antilles. The population of the republic is about 10 million people, the capital of the Dominican Republic, Santo Domingo.
The island of Haiti was discovered by Christopher Columbus in 1492, and a few years later his colonization began. The Spaniards called the island – Espanyol. The island for a long time served as an apple of contention between Spain, France and England. After the signing of a peace treaty in 1697, the eastern part of the island remained in Spanish possession, the western part went to France. The western part of the island, again passed into the possession of Spain in 1808, after the uprising in the French possessions in 1804. Completely from the Spanish dependency, the Dominican Republic was freed in 1821, but a year later, it was seized by the neighboring Republic of Haiti. Only in 1844 after the next uprising, the Dominican Republic was proclaimed, with its capital in Santo Domingo. In 1861, the republic was again attacked by Spain and lost its independence. The southern coast of the country, stretched from Cape Pedernales, to Baihibe in the east. On the southern coast is the administrative center of the Dominican Republic, the city of Santo Domingo, which has retained much of the color of the colonial era, thanks to the beautiful architecture left over from those distant times. On the coast there are many resort areas with excellent hotels and beaches, where there are all conditions for active recreation, unique nature reserves, with a variety of samples of tropical vegetation and fauna. The north coast of the Dominican Republic, stretched from the borders with the Republic of Haiti almost to the very end of the Saman island, in the east of the country. On the east coast, is the famous resort of Puerto Plata, which also has the name “Amber Coast”. This name he received thanks to deposits of black amber. First of all, tourists are attracted by the most beautiful white sand beaches, clean coastal waters and a huge selection of different types of outdoor activities.
