Tourist and resort Greece – the union of ancient shrines and modern resorts
Speaking about the resorts of Greece, usually refer to the coastal cities and islands. From the resorts of mainland Greece, I would like to mention Attica, Peloponnese and Macedonia.
Attica – the Athenian Riviera. Athens is the birthplace of democracy, the capital of Greece and one of the most ancient cities on the planet. Many tourists stop in Athens for at least 2-3 days to visit Plaka, the Acropolis, Argolid and all the other sights, and only then go on holiday to the islands. However, if you have firmly decided that you will certainly spend your vacation not far from this magnificent city in order to fully enjoy its magnificence, then the Athenian Riviera is looking forward to you. Visit Kifissia, a resort town north of Athens. Here are some of the best Athens restaurants, cafeterias and pastry shops. Not far from Athens there is a strip of magnificent beaches – in the towns of Glyfada, Voura, Faliro, Kavouri, Varkiza, and the most prestigious resort in this area – Vouliagmeni. The most famous resorts of modern Attica – Marathon, Mati, Lagonisi, Vravrona, Nea Makri and Loutraki have long been famous for healing and mineral waters, stunningly beautiful nature and simply unique in their mild climate.
Of the sights of this area, you will first of all be struck by a stunning masterpiece of ancient architecture – the incomparable Parthenon Temple (or the Temple of the Virgin of Athena), designed by Phidias, which is famous for its flawless lines and perfect contours. In the vicinity of Athens – the Theater of Dionysus – it was here on the southern slope of the Acropolis for the first time played the immortal tragedies of Euripides and Sophocles, the comedies of Menander and Aristophanes.
Peloponnese is one of the most beautiful areas of the country, where you will be conquered by the abundance of historical monuments and ancient ruins, it pleasantly wanders through dense forests, and the sea has a unique blue color. Small villages (Derveni, Kiato, Vrahati, Istmia, Xylokastro), located on the shores of the Saronic and Corinthian Gulfs, attract many tourists from all continents. On the territory of Argolida there are extremely interesting archeological monuments. And here are numerous summer resorts – Porto Heli, Tolo, Candia.
Messinia is an area little known to most tourists.
Peloponnese. Messinia will surely charm you with its nature: green landscapes, warm climate, a sea with a wide and clean sandy beach, and, of course, traditional villages.
An interesting area of the Peloponnese – Laconia with its capital Sparta.
Macedonia and its Salonik invites you to relax on the coast of the Thermal Bay. In Macedonia, south of Thessaloniki, lies the region of Halkidiki, a resort of worldwide popularity.
